The Verge was designed as the proposed the new head office for a large property and construction business. Relocating from central Auckland, this vacant semi-industrial site was chosen for the surrounding amenities, including access to existing public transport routes and proximity to a main arterial intersection.

For this construction company client, high-tech materials are showcased in the design; and a proposed overbridge links to nearby rail and retail for the convenience of staff who travel from all parts of greater Auckland.

Being located close to a major arterial intersection created a harsh environment, addressed through significant acoustic treatment. With sustainability at the forefront of the brief, large central internal voids and courtyards interconnect the various levels and act as large stair areas, encouraging walk up while also offering an attractive design feature.
