| Oceania Apartments is a high quality apartment building in central Milford on Auckland’s North Shore. Formerly the site of a petrol station, these fourteen apartments occupy three building levels and are located between light commercial activities and residential properties.
The architectural solution was based on creating a buffer to the commercial area to the south and increasing connection to the residential character of Frieston Road to the north. |
Circulation is achieved through an innovative landscaped semi-closed atrium to the south of the property, providing physical, visual and acoustic separation from the neighbouring commercial activity. This design solution increases light on both sides of the apartments with natural cross ventilation to all bedrooms and living spaces.
The upper floors of the development are afforded extensive views over the Hauraki Gulf and a large communal garden and outdoor space is overlooked and accessed from all apartments. This timeless design with its clean lines and airy ambiance is constructed from painted precast stone and selected copper panels. |
